My Journey: From College Student to Student Mom

When I started college at Auburn University, I had my future mapped out. But life had other plans. I became pregnant and soon developed a blood clot that forced me to leave school and move back home. I went from being independent to relying on my mother for everything. Doubt crept in—could I still graduate? Would my dreams have to wait?

For a moment, I let fear take over. But deep inside, I knew one thing: I wasn’t going to let my circumstances define me.

I took a break, but I didn’t give up. With a determined mindset, I fought my way back, balancing textbooks, work, and raising my son as a single mother. I graduated, proving that setbacks don’t mean failure—they are simply part of the journey.

Fast forward to today—my son is now a freshman at LSU, a living reminder that when we push forward, we create a legacy of resilience.
